Rudiger warns Chelsea not to drop more points

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has claimed that the Blues can forget about the Premier League title if they keep dropping points, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have lost ground to fellow title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City after drawing at Stamford Bridge against Everton.

Liverpool won against Fulham and Manchester City defeated rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea struggled to break down Everton and when they did manage to do so, they found Jordan Pickford in good form to deny them.

Rudiger believes that there is no more room for Chelsea to drop points. He said:

There was a game on last night [City v United] that’s maybe important to us. But we failed to do our own job.

If we don’t win these kind of games, we don’t need to look at City and Liverpool. Do we need to improve on getting three draws at home out of four? That’s clear.

We had a lot of chances we missed. But we were unlucky. Last season, we dropped a lot of points and we were thinking ‘Oh! if we [had done this], if we [had done that]’ but this doesn’t count. The thing is we failed against Everton.

Rudiger has become a key part of Sarri’s Chelsea side and was impressive at the back when up against the tricky Richarlison.
