Charly Musonda has returned to Chelsea after he suffered a major injury whilst out on loan at Vitesse, as per reports from the Netherlands.
The 21-year-old played in a behind-closed-doors game against Royal Antwerp and suffered what looks to be a serious injury to his shin following a collision.
He’s now flown back to London for an assessment and he’ll stay there for the rehabilitation needed to get him back fit and firing.
Musonda should really still have been on loan at Celtic after agreeing to stay with the club for 18 months back in January 2018, but that deal was terminated early as the winger was not playing regularly enough for both his and Chelsea’s liking.
He joined Vitesse on August 31st, but his spell there looks like it will end without him even playing a competitive game due to his injury.
There is no word as of yet as to exactly what injury he suffered to his shin, but Vitesse think it is a serious one.
