Chelsea will make a summer move for Jean Michael Seri

Chelsea will make a summer move for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, but will face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals.

The Mirror are reporting that the West London club are trying to jump to the front of the queue by making an early move for the 26-year-old.

However, the Blues will be forced to wait for a decision from Seri, as he wants to see who will be the club’s manager next season, with Antonio Conte almost certain to leave after two years at the helm.

Liverpool, Arsenal and newly crowned champions Manchester City are also reportedly keen on the player, who was on the verge of joining Barcelona last summer before a last minute U-turn.

The central midfielder has made 25 Ligue 1 appearances this season in addition to five in the Europa League, scoring once.

Chelsea will be keen to improve their midfield options following their poor defence of the Premier League title, and the inconsistencies of Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who were both bought in last summer.

Any move could also depend on which continental competition the club feature in next season ,with the Blues in danger of missing out on the Champions League with five games remaining.
