Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri may be on the brink of an immediate return to Serie A, but Emerson may not follow him back to Italy after all.
Reports from Calcio Mercato, who cite La Gazzetta dello Sport, have suggested that despite interest from Juventus, Emerson will not be heading out the exit door any time soon.
This comes after Chelsea’s potential transfer embargo which would stop them from signing any players during the next two windows.
Emerson has built up the trust of Chelsea fans over the second half of the season and started to be picked in favour of fellow left-back Marcos Alonso.
Selling the Brazilian-born defender as any part of the Sarri deal now looks unlikely as Emerson is seen as a key part of the club moving forward.
The 24-year-old made 27 appearances for Chelsea this season in all competitions this season.
