Marc Cucurella has given Chelsea supporters a blunt post-exit message after explaining why he had no doubts about joining Real Madrid.
Real Madrid confirmed the agreement with Chelsea on 15 June and announced Cucurella on a six-year contract through to 2032.
Now, according to Barca Blaugranes, citing an interview with El Mundo, Cucurella has made it clear that Madrid offered him a chance he wanted to take.
For Chelsea, the message matters because it removes any soft edge from the exit.
Cucurella did not drift away reluctantly. Once Madrid came, he saw a stage he wanted.

That will sting for some Chelsea supporters, especially after a season where Cucurella became one of the side’s more reliable and combative figures.
