Newcastle United are keen on securing the services of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.

The Northern Echo report that Rafael Benitez has already drawn up a list of potential summer targets, with Abraham and Swansea City’s Daniel James both reported targets.

Benitez’s current contract at St James’ Park expires at the end of the season and the Spaniard has yet to agree terms on a new deal.

However, if the former Chelsea manager agrees to stay on Tyneside, the club may make a move for the impressive striker.

The 21-year-old has scored 25 Championship goals on loan at Aston Villa this season and has been tipped for Premier League football next season.

Maurizio Sarri has hinted at the possibility of Abraham remaining at Stamford Bridge next season, claiming two or three Blues loanees are ‘interesting’ to him.

Chelsea may have to rely on the likes of Abraham, Mason Mount, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori in the first-team squad next season, especially after FIFA rejected the Blues’ two-window transfer ban appeal earlier this week.
