Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has opened up about why he had a sudden dip in form after making a bright start to his career at the club.
As reported on Football London, the Spaniard revealed that he was having emotional trouble because he wasn’t scoring and that contributed to his lack of confidence in front of goal.
Morata made a blistering start to his Chelsea career and netted in his first seven matches for the club, however, he only managed to score one Premier League goal after December last season.

When speaking about why his form suddenly dipped, he said:
I’ve learned many things from last season. It was very difficult for me. I’d like to be happier when I play, I need to score more goals in order to be happier. I was really sad a few months ago.
I wasn’t depressed but I didn’t live my situation very well. People used to love me, I scored seven goals in the first seven games at Chelsea.
Then I got injured and I was playing even if I was feeling pain. There was a lot of tension and I didn’t want to speak to anybody.
The striker seems to be getting back into form and has scored in two successive matches, striking in the Europa League against Vidi and in the league against Southampton.
He has lost his starting spot to Olivier Giroud but if he continues to get his name on the scoresheet, then he has a great chance of becoming the first choice striker again.
