Danny Drinkwater is in no rush to leave Chelsea

Danny Drinkwater is in no rush to leave Chelsea in January, despite clearly not being in Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

The England international had not even been named in a matchday squad this season but he’s keen to ensure that his next move is the right one and as such, he is not willing to rush through any deal.

According to Matt Law of the Telegraph, Drinkwater picks up around £100,000-a-week at Chelsea and that wage is putting off potential suitors.

Chelsea were keen to get Drinkwater off the books in the summer but a permanent deal could not be arranged and when the window shut, the player did not fancy making a move on loan to a Championship side or to a club from abroad.

Drinkwater is aware that his time is up at Chelsea but aged 28, he knows he has to get his next move right, so he is prepared to wait until the summer if needs be.
