Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has said that he will be surprised if Antonio Conte is still the Chelsea manager in a year’s time, the Telegraph reports.
Conte has been growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of transfer activity at the club and the involvement of Chelsea’s hierarchy in transfer deals.
So far this summer Chelsea have sold midfielder Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, while they’re also aiming to offload want-away Diego Costa.
The Blues have also missed out on key deals for Romelu Lukaku, Danilo and Alex Sandro in what has been an extremely difficult summer transfer window for the Premier League champions.
Speaking last night on the new Sky Sports panel show, The Debate, former England international said:
I’d be very surprised if I’m sitting here in 12 months’ time and he’s the Chelsea manager. I think he’s the type of manager who won’t accept the involvement from people above, especially on the back of winning the title. He’s not going to go quietly and it’s not great for the club when the manager is coming out and speaking the way he is.

Chelsea are well known for sacking managers, with most rarely lasting two years in the job.
The club sacked Jose Mourinho in December 2015, just months after winning the Premier League title and Conte may well end up suffering a similar fate.
Conte refused to answer questions after the Community Shield loss on Sunday about whether he had a strong enough squad for the upcoming season.
