Jurgen Klopp wants Real Madrid to sign Chelsea player

In recent times, Chelsea have been linked with a number of Real Madrid players. In fact, reports in Spain had claimed that an offer for Rodrygo was on the way before he picked up a serious injury, which is expected to see him miss the World Cup. On the other hand, it looks like one of the Blues’ players could end up Los Blancos’ radar.

There is one Chelsea player who has been consistently linked with Real Madrid for years now. And with performance levels going up over the past couple of seasons, those whispers are expected to grow.

We are talking about none other than Enzo Fernandez. With 11 goals and 5 assists to his name this season, he is one of Chelsea’s most important players right now.

Real Madrid currently have Alvaro Arbeloa in the managerial hot seat. But unless they win some big trophies, he is not expected to continue beyond this season. Jurgen Klopp has long been suggested as a possible option. The German legend has been away from management since leaving Liverpool in 2024. Could Santiago Bernabeu be his next destination? And if so, could Fernandez end up following him?

Klopp reportedly wants Real Madrid to sign Fernandez from Chelsea

According to TEAMtalk, Graeme Bailey has reported that Klopp is ‘open’ to taking charge of Real Madrid. The German manager is ‘keen’ on getting back into football management with the 15-time European champions. Also, Los Blancos are keen on hiring him, with Arbeloa unlikely to be in charge beyond the end of the ongoing season.

Also, according to the same outlet, a speculative report in Spain has noted: ‘The German coach believes that Enzo Fernandez is one of the most complete midfielders in football today.

‘His ability to organise the game, his personality on the field and his ability to dominate the rhythm of the match fit perfectly into the footballing idea that Klopp wants to develop in his next team.

‘For this reason, the coach has made it clear to his entourage that signing the Argentine is an absolute priority wherever he goes to train.’

Chelsea cannot let Fernandez leave right now

Chelsea signed Fernandez right after his 2022 World Cup success with Argentina. And it was one of the most memorable transfer sagas in the club’s history, going right down to the wire and taking north of a £100 million.

Since then, Fernandez has had his ups and downs. There have been times when fans have felt that he is not good enough. But in his current role and form, there is no denying that he is an integral part of the team.

Fernandez might have come in as a deep-lying playmaker expected to control the game. But over time, he has developed into a box-crashing midfielder with an appetite for goals. His stats back that up. Since the start of the 24/25 campaign, the Argentine has scored 20 goals and provided 22 assists. In contrast, in his first season-and-a-half for Chelsea, he had 7 goals and 6 assists.

The improvement is quite clear. Also, let’s not forget, he is still just 25 years of age and yet to enter his prime. Chelsea cannot even consider parting ways with Fernandez at this time.
