Mourinho criticises fixture makers ahead of Spurs clash

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has criticised the Premier League’s fixture makers ahead of his side’s clash with Chelsea this weekend.

The north London side came up against German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League and Mourinho is not pleased that his side must now play against Chelsea in Saturday’s early game.

As quoted on Football London, Mourinho said:

The Chelsea players were watching this game on TV, with nice sparkling water, with lemons and biscuits enjoying the game and we play Saturday at 12 o’clock.

Thank you so much for the choice. We cannot even sleep well until 10.30 or 11. We have to wake up at 7.30 for the game.

Tottenham fans will likely love Mourinho’s comments because he is being brutally honest with his remarks.

Spurs only have two full days to recover and prepare for one of the biggest matches of their league season.

Mourinho’s men sit just one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea and obviously, the Blues now have a massive advantage going into the game because they’re refreshed and ready after playing on Monday.

However, we believe that the schedule is something that every team needs to combat at some point in the season and unfortunately for Spurs, this match lies after a midweek game.

Cheslea should be the fresher of the two sides though and as such, they must press home that advantage and secure a valuable win in the race for a top four finish.
