Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has revealed why he rejected a return to the club as a coach.
The Ivorian revealed that he was offered the “perfect” role at the Blues, but instead wants to become head of the Ivory Coast FA.

Speaking at a meeting, as the former Blues forward attempts to secure the presidency, Drogba said, via Metro:
I am a leader, and my vision is bigger than just the simple role of being a coach.
A coach has an impact on a club – but I want to have an impact on an entire nation.
I want us to re-think football, with a nationwide vision, so we can develop the game here. The Ivory Coast has a glorious footballing past.

The former Blues forward could’ve been a huge asset to the Blues coaching staff, but it simply wasn’t to be.
He is obviously looking to improve football in his home country, so a move to the Blues is now off the cards.
