Sarri set to determine Higuain’s future

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri looks set to determine the future of Gonzalo Higuain this summer, with the Italian expected to be named as Masimiliano Allegri’s successor at Juventus in the near future.

That’s according to Calcio Mercato, who suggest via Sky Sports that Sarri will make a decision on whether to keep Higuain at Juventus or allow the striker to leave the club, should he be named as the Old Lady’s next permanent manager.

The Blues have the option to either sign Higuain on a permanent deal or extend his loan from Juve this summer following his short spell with the club, after he joined on loan in January.

Higuain scored just seven times for Chelsea in 23 appearances in all competitions, and is expected to stay at Juve should Sarri be named as Allegri’s replacement.

The striker, however, is one of the only players Chelsea could sign permanently this summer given their two-window transfer ban, alongside fellow loanee Mateo Kovacic.
