Martell Taylor-Crossdale set for permanent Hoffenheim move

Young Chelsea striker Martell Taylor-Crossdale is set to finalise a permanent move to Hoffenheim later this week, Sky Sports report.

The report claims that the 19-year-old will head to Germany later this week for a medical, with Hoffenheim also keen on signing a second unnamed English youngster.

Taylor-Crossdale has impressed for the Blues’ academy sides in recent years, earning the Under-18 Premier League top scorer award back in 2017.

The dynamic forward has been regarded as a future star by Chelsea officials, and the club reportedly made an initial attempt to keep the striker at Stamford Bridge.

However, it appears as if Taylor-Crossdale will make the move to the Bundesliga in the summer, and will hope to emulate the likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson’s progression next season.

Chelsea could well be left in an attacking predicament next season under Maurizio Sarri, especially if they decide against making Gonzalo Higuain’s loan move permanent over the summer.
