Arsenal have responded to claims that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could miss the Europa League final against Chelsea.
As reported by James Olley, the Gunners have released a statement confirming that they are seeking assurances from UEFA before making a decision on whether or not Mkhitaryan will feature in Baku.
Their statement read:
We are seeking guarantees from UEFA that it will be safe for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to travel to Baku for the Europa League Final, which both Arsenal and Micki require for him to be included within our squad.
During his time with both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, Mkhitaryan has missed previous games in Azerbaijan as a result of the country’s continued conflict with his native Armenia.

There are once again fears that it may not be safe for the player to travel to the Europa League final, with his availability for the game thrown into serious doubt.
Mkhitaryan has been in and out of the Arsenal squad this season, but not having the player available for the final due to matters out of their control would come as a huge blow to Unai Emery and his players.
