Burton begin talks with Bradley Collins over permanent move

Nigel Clough has revealed Burton have begun talks to sign Chelsea loanee Bradley Collins on a permanent deal this summer, following the goalkeeper’s impressive season for the Brewers.

Collins has kept 10 clean sheets in 34 appearances for Clough’s side this campaign, and according to the Derby Telegraph, the Burton boss is keen on a move for the 22-year-old.

The ‘keeper is out of contract with parent club Chelsea this summer, and Clough revealed talks have begun with Collins’ representatives over a permanent deal.

It’s just talks ongoing between all the parties at the moment. It’s not a straightforward thing.

Collins is coming to the end of his second consecutive season on loan from Chelsea, following his spell with League Two side Forest Green Rovers last campaign.

And Clough believes it is time for the 22-year-old to be playing regular football, and thinks a permanent move to Burton would suit his development.

He is another one who is playing every week, he’s enjoying it, and I think the best thing for him will be to keep playing. I don’t see any point in him going as a number two in the Championship or elsewhere. Having had two very good seasons, one in League Two and one in League One, you’ve got to keep going with it, so hopefully he’ll do that.

It’s mainly Brad and his representatives (being talked to) about hopefully what we can try to do.
