Chelsea are one of the teams interested in signing Khephren Thuram, then son of legendary French star Lilian Thuram, according to The Mail.
The 17-year-old Monaco player is a defensive midfielder, unlike his World Cup-winning father, who excelled as a defender.
Liverpool are also being linked with a move for the teenager and both the Reds and the Blues could swoop in before Thuram signs his first professional contract at the age of 18 – a birthday he celebrates in March.
If Chelsea do sign the son of the French legend, they would have to pay a small compensatory fee but that is unlikely to put them off as The Blues have always been keen to acquire the best young players from a around Europe.
Monaco will be desperate to secure a long-term deal for Thuram, even if they are resigned to losing him at some point in the near future.
By getting the midfielder tied down to a contract, Monaco will then be able to sell him if they do decide to let him move on, rather than losing him for a small fee if he moves before he puts pen-to-paper in a professional deal.
