Chelsea rejected an approach from Schalke in January as they looked to sign Andreas Christensen on loan.
According to Bild, via Calcio Mercato, Schalke were keen to sign Christensen in January, but Chelsea refused to let him leave.
Christensen has found minutes hard to come by this season and, up until the recent win over Huddersfield, has been behind Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The Danish international started alongside Luiz as Chelsea beat Huddersfield 5-0, a game in which new signing Gonzalo Higuain netted his first two goals for the club.
It was his first Premier League appearance since he started at the back in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves in December – his only other league outing of the season so far.
Despite his lack of involvement, Chelsea turned down Schalke’s offer to take Christensen on loan to the Bundesliga.
