The agent of Chelsea target Ivan Rakitic has told La Gazetta Dello Sport (Via Marca) that the Croatian midfielder will not be leaving Barcelona this summer.
Rakitic is supposedly keen to renew his contract at the Nou Camp but a deal is yet to materialise for the World Cup finalist.
A plethora of top teams across Europe were keen to capitalise on this uncertainty to secure the services of Rakitic during the transfer window with Chelsea, Inter Milan and Paris Saint Germain showing interest in him as it looked more and more likely that Barcelona would cash in on the 30-year old.
However, the transfer did not materialise in the winter window and Rakitic’s agent, Arturo Canales. has doused any hope of reviving any interest at the end of the season.
It is an impossible scenario to see Ivan leaving Spain in the summer.
Rakitic’s contract currently runs until June 2021 and it appears that he will see out his deal at Barcelona.
