Chelsea’s out-of-favour left-back Baba Rahman has joined Ligue 1 side Reims on loan, the club has confirmed.
The 24-year-old had been enjoying a temporary spell at Schalke this season, but his time in Germany was cut short.
He has subsequently moved to Reims until the end of the 2018/19 campaign, with David Guion’s side currently ninth in Ligue 1.
There is no purchase option once the summer arrives, however, as reported by Foot Mercato, with Rahman returning to Stamford Bridge when the loan expires.
Rahman joined Chelsea from Augsburg in the summer of 2015 but has never managed to nail down a first-team place.
He has made just 23 appearances for the Blues, spending two different stints at Schalke before his move to France.
There is every chance that Rahman will be sold permanently in the summer, with Maurizio Sarri seeing him as no part of his plans at Stamford Bridge.
