Chelsea’s Lewis Baker is set to cut short his loan spell at Leeds United and join fellow Championship side Reading, according to This Is Futbol.
The midfielder is set to have his recall clause activated by his parent club, Chelsea, to then be sent back out on loan to Reading.
The Blues are already believed to be in advances negotiations with Reading over a loan move for Baker that will see him complete the remainder of the season at the Madejski Stadium.
The 23-year-old has struggled to make his mark on the Leeds squad this campaign, making just two starts for the Championship outfit.
Baker was one of three Chelsea loanees to arrive at Elland Road in the summer alongside Izzy Brown and Jamal Blackman, neither of them having made much of an impact either.
Should there be no problems with Baker’s medical or contract, then an announcement from Reading could expected later today.
