Lazio are in advanced talks over a deal to sign Chelsea right-back Davide Zappacosta this month.
According to The Evening Standard, Lazio are set to sign the defender on loan until the end of the season, with the option to make it permanent in the summer.
Zappacosta has found game time hard to come by in the Premier League this season, with captain Cesar Azpilicueta being Chelsea’s current first-choice right-back.
The report claims that Lazio are willing to pay £13.5m for Zappacosta at the end of the season, as well as paying Chelsea a loan fee this month to secure the deal.
The Evening Standard claim that Maurizio Sarri does not see Zappacosta as part of his long-term plans at Chelsea and is willing to sanction an exit for the Italian over the next few weeks.
Zappacosta signed for Chelsea from Torino for £22m in 2017, but has failed to hit the heights expected of him at the time.
