Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Jan Vertonghen could feature the first time in nearly two months when Spurs host Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
A hamstring injury has kept the Belgian international out of Tottenham’s last nine games in all competitions but he is now fit again and has been training with his teammates.

The news of Vertonghen’s return comes at a very good time for Spurs as Pochettino also revealed that centre-back Davinson Sanchez could be out for the next month with a hamstring injury of his own, so it’s pretty much a case of ‘one in, one out’ for the North London side ahead of this weekend’s clash with unbeaten Chelsea.
Whilst the Spurs boss did not confirm Vertonghen’s return will come this weekend, it looks like he will partner Toby Alderweireld at the heart of the Tottenham defence as Sanchez is injured and Juan Foyth is not expected to start as he returns from international duty late after being with the Argentinian squad.
