Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri reportedly wants to sign Denis Suarez from Barcelona.
The Italian manager is believed to have been a keen admirer of the midfielder during his tenure in charge of Napoli, with Marca now reporting that he is keen to recruit him for Chelsea.
Suarez does not appear to be in the plans of Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, which has prompted speculation that he is likely to depart Camp Nou in the January transfer window.
Should the La Liga giants sanction the player’s departure in January, he will not be short of potential destinations to choose from, with Chelsea now among the clubs in the race for his signature.
The Blues will, of course, face competition in their apparent pursuit of Suarez. Napoli are said to still be keen on the Barcelona star, while Valencia are also pondering a move.
Chelsea are well-stocked with midfield options but it seems they are keeping a close eye on Suarez’s situation in Spain.
