Barcelona are still keen to sign Willian, according to reports, and may look to use out of favour star Malcom in a player-exchange deal with Chelsea.
It’s claimed by Spanish media outlet La Sexta, as cited in a report from the Mirror, that the La Liga giants have continued to pursue the 30-year-old winger as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Willian was a target for Barcelona during the summer transfer window but Chelsea resisted offers, with the player still a big part of the club’s plans for the future.
After failing in their attempts to land Willian from the Blues in the summer, Barcelona explored other attacking alternatives and recruited Malcom in a £36.5 million deal from Bordeaux.
However, the 21-year-old has struggled to impress at Camp Nou and has not worked his way into Ernesto Valverde’s immediate plans at the club.
This has prompted speculation surrounding his future, with La Sexta now indicating that Barca could use him as a sweetener to Chelsea in their move for Willian.
