Juventus will reportedly consider selling Daniele Rugani next summer, in what is a bitter blow to Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea.
According to reports in Italy, the player is no longer needed under Massimo Allegri and the Juventus boss is ready to move him on in the summer.
Sarri chased Rugani’s signature throughout the summer transfer window after identifying him as one of his key transfer targets.
Having worked with him at Empoli and trying to sign him for Napoli, Sarri was keen to bring him to London after being appointed at Chelsea.

A deal to take the player to Stamford Bridge was believed to be close, but after losing Mattia Caldara to Milan, Juventus refused to sell Rugani and be left short of options at the back.
The Chelsea head coach wanted to strengthen defensively and has since reiterated his desire to do so.
Sarri is now expected to target his defence in the upcoming transfer window, with Rugani and Alessio Romagnoli believed to be two players on his shortlist.
