Andreas Christensen will not complete a move back to Borussia Monchengladbach, as sporting director Max Eberl plays down suggestions of a deal.
Eberl, the club’s sporting director, has distanced the club from a move for the Danish defender, amid suggestions he could be on the move during the January transfer window.
Speaking to Sky Germany about the player, Eberl played down any potential rumours of a Gladbach return for Christensen, as reported by TEAMtalk.
Although we have some money to spend, I’ve heard that Chelsea will only sell Andreas if they allow him to leave, and the amount they will ask for is very large.

The defender’s father has talked up the chances of Christensen leaving Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later if he does not break into the Chelsea team under Maurizio Sarri.
Christesen has found game time hard to come by and has himself hinted he could leave London.
The young defender enjoyed two very successful years on loan at Gladbach, where he was a huge hit at the club.
Borussia Dortmund and Roma have also expressed an interest in the player in recent weeks.
