Despite continuing to turn in good performances – and assurances from Unai Emery that he is a valued member of the squad – the contract situation remains unavoidable.
With his deal running out in the summer, Ramsey seems increasingly unlikely to sign on the dotted line before his Arsenal career expires.
A decade at one of Europe’s top clubs, the Welshman is ready for the next chapter of his career.
Where that might be remains to be seen, although Chelsea are rumoured to be one of the clubs in the race for the 27-year-old.
Quoted by the Metro, Arsenal Director of Football Raul Sanllehi said:

Any decision that we take is thoroughly discussed, debated among several professional people sharing one common objective, which is what is best for the club.
Any decision we take along this way, is always going to be based on whether this is good or bad for Arsenal. If it’s a responsible decision or if it can be detrimental for Arsenal, that is basically our main criteria in every step of the decision making.
A cryptic message then, but one that can be analysed through a contextual basis of Aaron Ramsey’s present status at the club. Ramsey seems ready to move on, as do Arsenal.
