Chelsea are preparing to rival Liverpool in a race for Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne, according to reports.
The Blues have been in the market for a forward, with new boss Maurizio Sarri supposedly hoping to bring in fresh blood to compete with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.
Insigne has played much of his career on the left wing, but is capable of playing through the centre.

For a struggle with Liverpool, it’s important to note that Chelsea have an immediate advantage over the Reds – Sarri.
Working under the 59-year-old in Naples, Insigne was a preferred selection for the former banker. Appearing 97 times in the last two seasons, Insigne was on on target 34 times.
This season, the 27-year-old has started the season in scorching form. Scoring seven goals in ten games, Insigne may make himself one of the more valuable commodities in world football.
Liverpool are on the hunt for an attacking player ever since their move for Nabil Fekir fell at the final hurdle, and would likely be willing to part with serious cash for the transfer of Insigne.
