Ross Barkley determined to earn England recall after injury layoff

Ross Barkley is determined to earn an international recall after his long injury layoff, according to BT Sport.

The midfielder has recently returned to action with Chelsea, and has impressed under new boss Maurizio Sarri.

However, speaking after the game, Barkley spoke about how he also wants to return to international duty after losing his spot in the England side.

I was injured and then I wasn’t in the squad, but you have just got to react in the right way and I feel like I have.

I’m just going to let my football do the talking and hopefully I’ll be back in the squad soon.

Barkley joined the Blues in January from Everton, but struggled to find game time due to injuries.

However, Barkley has featured eight times so far this season for the Blues, and has seemingly rediscovering the form he showed at Everton with Chelsea.

Barkley added:

I knew things would come good and they have started to go well now and I believe they will continue to get better with continuing to work hard in training.

I want to keep improving, which I feel I already am with the direction that he (Sarri) wants us to go in

I will play anywhere on the pitch. But (the aim) for me (is) to add goals and assists. I played a part in the first goal here, but I am hoping to add a lot more as the season goes on.
