Roma eye replacement for Chelsea target Kostas Manolas

Roma are reportedly looking to sign Sevilla star Clement Lenglet as a replacement for Kostas Manolas, who could be set for a summer switch to Chelsea.

The Greek international has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues in recent times, with it being reported that the club are willing to activate his release clause, thought to be in the region of £35m.

Roma sporting director Monchi is understood by Calciomercato to have identified Lenglet as a potential target, as he aims to make early contingency plans in the event of Manolas’ departure.

Chelsea are on the lookout for a new central defender this summer, it seems, with Juventus star Daniele Rugani also linked with a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.

Maurizio Sarri, who is expected to be confirmed as the new Chelsea manager sooner rather than later, is believed to be an admirer of Manolas and will hope to land him in the near future.
