Chelsea are keen on a summer deal for Roma star Kostas Manolas and it seems they are willing to flex their financial muscle in an attempt to convince the defender to join them.
It was reported on Thursday that the Blues, who are on the lookout for a new centre-back this summer, are willing to meet Manolas’ release clause which is priced at €38 million.
If the Blues do indeed stump up the aforementioned figure, they will be able to negotiate a deal with Manolas as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea will aim to lure Manolas away from Roma by offering him a deal worth €5 million per season, which would equate to an approximate wage of £85,000 per week.
The Blues have not yet appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager but plans are in place to strengthen ahead of next season, with Manolas having emerged as a top target.
