Napoli defender admits Maurizio Sarri is joining Chelsea

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly believes that Maurizio Sarri will become the new manager of Premier League side Chelsea, according to a report on the Daily Star.

The Senegal centre-back had a good relationship with Sarri at Napoli and admits that the Blues will be better off with Italian in charge.

The London club is expected to appoint Sarri as their new manager this season after a disappointing Premier League campaign under Antonio Conte last season.

However, Conte did guide the side to FA Cup glory but it looks like that wasn’t enough to save his job at Stamford Bridge.

When speaking about Sarri’s potential move to Chelsea, Koulibaly said:

(Chelsea fans) can expect nice football because he is a very good coach. I’m disappointed that he leaves like this. I hope he will win something with Chelsea because he’s a nice coach.

When a coach like this comes he needs time. So I think they have to give him time because he will change the football of Chelsea, I think.

Chelsea want to give Sarri enough time before the season starts to build the squad to his desire and the Blues are already being linked with some high profile Serie A players, including Napoli’s Dries Mertens.
