Chelsea ready to go back in for Butland

Chelsea are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Stoke City’s Jack Butland.

The Daily Mail claims that there are increasing concerns over the future of Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge, prompting the club to plan for a replacement.

Real Madrid continue to be linked with a move for the Belgian international, who is out of contract in 12 months time.

Courtois has long talked up a move back to Spain and there is a growing expectancy at Chelsea that he could leave this summer.

Butland has been a long-term target for the Blues and has been a player they have tracked over a number of years.

Liverpool have also expressed an interest in Butland in recent weeks, with the Reds set to enter the market for a new goalkeeper this summer.

Both clubs are also keen on Roma’s Alisson, but Butland would be seen as the cheaper option.

The England international is widely expected to leave the club this summer following Stoke’s relegation to the Championship.
