Maurizio Sarri’s representatives held talks with Chelsea on Thursday over succeeding Antonio Conte as manager, according to Tancredi Palmeri.

Sarri left Napoli on Wednesday and is now available, which appears to have put Chelsea on red alert as they plan an imminent meeting with the Italian boss.
Antonio Conte is yet to leave Stamford Bridge but his dismissal is somewhat likely to happen very soon, leaving room for the former Empoli boss to come in.
Conte’s parting gift with Chelsea will be winning the FA Cup final on Saturday, following his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester United.
However, a fifth-place finish in the Premier League and failure to qualify for the Champions League are not considered good enough for Roman Abramovich, who is seemingly on the lookout for successors.
If talks go well, Sarri will join Chelsea after a nearly winning Napoli their first Serie A title since 1990, an impressive effort against giants Juventus.
