Chelsea are preparing to rival Arsenal for the signature of in-demand Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante in the summer.
Sky Sports report that the Blues, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in signing the Italian.
The centre-midfielder was on loan at the Serie A side to start the season but his deal was made permanent this year, following a brilliant start.
Atalanta currently sit sixth in the league and Cristante has contributed massively to that, scoring nine goals in 32 appearances. The 23-year-old even scored the equaliser as they came back from two down to draw 2-2 with Juventus back in October.
Most notably for English fans, he scored in both ties against Everton in this season’s Europa League including a double in the 5-1 victory at Goodison Park.
Cristante’s performances led to him being called up to the Italian national team for the first time in October, making his debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Macedonia.
Roman Abramovich likes his side to invest in players and make profit, so the £30 million-rated player would be a good investment for a long period of time if his performances stay at this high level.
