Kylian Mbappe has revealed how a trial as a ten-year-old at Chelsea has helped him develop into one of world football’s top stars.
The Frenchman revealed in an interview with FourFourTwo that he has fond times at his time with the Blues, in which he played in a game against Charlton Athletic as a ten-year-old.
Mbappe said in the interview that; ‘I was still young back then, maybe 10 or 11, I went to London and spent just under a week over there. I trained at Chelsea and we played a friendly match against Charlton Athletic.
‘We won 6-0 or 7-0. I played up front, but I don’t think I scored. It was great – it was my first experience abroad and a chance for me to see what the game was like in England.’
Since then Mbappe joined Monaco and established himself as one of the top youngsters in the world. He recently joined PSG in an initial loan deal followed by what is set to be a multi-million pound move to the French capital.
