Sevilla enter race to sign Chelsea target Oliver Torres

Chelsea will look to bolster their squad in the summer to mount a stronger challenge on the Premier League title and one of the players they are believed to be keeping tabs on is Oliver Torres.

The former La Liga winner with Atletico Madrid left the Spanish capital last summer for Porto in a deal worth a reported €20m following a successful loan spell in Portugal but has fallen out of favour with Sérgio Conceição.

Having made just seven Liga NOS starts this season, Torres is on the chopping block and Porto are believed to be ready to part ways with the former Spain U21 international for just £7.5m.

Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the 23-year-old and could be tempted back into a move for him in the summer if they want to reinforce their attacking midfield options, but they face competition from Sevilla who want to bring him back to La Liga, and they have already opened negotiations to make that happen.

Ross Barkley was signed by Chelsea in January but so far the £15m recruit from Everton has failed to make a great impact at Stamford Bridge and the Blues may address their creative options in the summer.

Real Madrid star Isco is another midfield creator that the Blues are being linked with but Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham are both also interested.
