Chelsea are lacking in attacking diversity and options currently with really just four recognised forward players in Antonio Conte’s squad and this will be an area the Blues address during the summer transfer window.
A wide forward should be Chelsea’s priority and in recent weeks they have been linked with a big-money move for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele who hasn’t enjoyed a great debut season in La Liga.
Shortly after completing a move from Borussia Dortmund to the Nou Camp which could be worth a potential £130m if all clauses are met, Dembele suffered a significant hamstring injury which kept him out for over three months.
Since making his return to the first-team, Dembele has continued to struggle with muscular complaints, making just nine appearances for the Catalan club so far without scoring.
Eager to get his career back on track, the 20-year-old would like to leave Barcelona on loan next season and has told the club that Barcelona is his preferred destination, according to El Gol Digital.
The report claims that Barcelona would be seeking a record loan fee of £13m to send the France international away for a season. Having spent £142m on Philippe Coutinho in January, Barcelona are believed to be increasingly more open to parting ways with Dembele in the summer either on a permanent or loan deal.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid have all also been credited with an interest in signing Dembele once the summer transfer window opens.
