Chelsea would want Gareth Bale in a swap for Eden Hazard

While Chelsea’s focus will be solely on adding to their attacking ranks, Eden Hazard continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer which has some Blues fans worried that he may leave the club.

Valued in excess of £150m, any deal which sees Hazard leave the club will likely make him of the most expensive footballers of all-time and Chelsea would have to dig deep into their pockets to replace a player of his calibre.

Reports have done the rounds recently that Madrid would be willing to send a player to Stamford Bridge as part of any Hazard deal, and attacking midfielder Marco Asensio has been the hot name, but Chelsea have an alternative Madrid star in mind that they’d like to bring in if Hazard was determined to join Los Blancos.

AS report that Asensio is not available as part of the deal, but Gareth Bale is, and Chelsea would accept the former Tottenham star in part-exchange for Hazard.

Madrid are understood to have lost patience with Bale after the attacker continues to suffer from muscular issues, limiting him to just 12 La Liga appearances so far this season.

Bale will be allowed to leave in the summer with Manchester United and Tottenham both keen to bring him back to the Premier League, but Chelsea could have first dibs on the Welshman – but it would cost the Eden Hazard.
