Five things to watch for as Chelsea host Newcastle

Chelsea seem to be a club caught in the middle of a developing crisis. Head Coach Antonio Conte is said to be growing frustrated with the powers at be at the top of the hierarchy over the club’s transfer policy.

After the dip in form of record-breaking signing Alvaro Morata and the lack of faith and confidence in bit-part Belgian Michy Batshuayi, the Blues are lacking in the goals department.

With questionable enquiries being rejected for West Ham’s Andy Carroll and 37-year-old Peter Crouch, it seems that Antonio Conte has settled for Roma striker and Premier League champion Edin Dzeko to solve the current goalscoring dilemma.

Having only won a single Premier League game in 2018, Chelsea’s attention turns to the FA Cup fourth round, and the visit of former manager Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United.

The Magpies possess more of an intense state of disarray than the Blues with Amanda Staveley’s failed takeover bid, and will be looking to refocus on the pitch.

Here are five things to look out for in Sunday’s fixture.
