Chelsea turn their attention to Giroud loan move

Chelsea are thought to be exploring the possibilities of bringing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud to Stamford Bridge on loan for the remainder of the season, according to Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, cited by GFFN.

Manager Antonio Conte is desperate to add to his attacking options before the deadline closes on Wednesday, publicly admitting his frustration over the past few weeks, and has turned his attention to the French international.

Giroud, 31, has failed to nail down a starting spot in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up this season after the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette in the summer, however, the same reporter has stated that Giroud isn’t so keen on the move across London.

Conte and Chelsea have been linked with several Premier League strikers this month, including Peter Crouch and Ashley Barnes, as backup to current number nine Alvaro Morata, with out of favour Michy Batshuayi looking set to leave Stamford Bridge on loan.
