According to the Evening Standard, Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri has agreed to join Chelsea.
The full-back has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent times and it seems the transfer is edging ever closer, with Johnson claiming that an agreement between the club and player has been reached. Emerson is in line to be paid £42,000 per week, according to Simon Johnson.
Emerson, who is only 23-years-old, has been in good form for Roma this season and is set to provide good competition for Marcos Alonso on the left-hand side for the Blues.
Reports have indicated that the fee for the Emerson deal will be worth in the region of £20 million. The Brazilian defender is set to be joined by Edin Dzeko, with the Roma pair close to sealing moves to Chelsea.
It seems it is only a matter of time before Emerson is officially announced as a Chelsea player, with Blues boss Antonio Conte wasting no time in the January transfer window.
