Chelsea give Newcastle first choice on Kenedy loan

Current Premier League champions Chelsea have given Newcastle United the first option to sign full-back Kenedy on loan until the end of the season, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

The youngster is looking for more regular first team action and manager Antonio Conte is happy to allow him to leave on loan until the end of this season.

Kenedy will only be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan in January if the Blues manage to sign an adequate replacement in the left-back position because if they let him go without doing so, then they will only have Marcos Alonso in that position.

Conte has again been eyeing up a move for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro and will attempt to lure the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge in January.

Newcastle will be hoping that Chelsea sign somebody because Kenedy will be a good addition to the Magpies squad as they look to avoid relegation.

Kenedy is highly rated but his attitude has sometimes let him down. The main example of this is when he was sent home early from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of China after posting offensive messages on social media about the country.

However, he has worked hard to win back his manager and was rewarded with a start against Bournemouth in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.
