‘It happened again’ Conte furious with fixture scheduling

Antonio Conte has once again bemoaned the poor scheduling from the Premier League as Chelsea prepare to face Newcastle at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were in midweek action against Swansea on Wednesday night, while Newcastle played out a 2-2 draw away at West Brom on Tuesday night.

The visitors will come into the game with an extra day of rest. Conte has slammed the busy fixture list in recent weeks too, with Chelsea given little time to prepare each week due to the extra Champions League fixtures.

As reported by Football London, Conte says he wants the league to find a solution to make it fair both sides.

Yes, I must be honest. It happened again. Newcastle played on Tuesday night, we played on Wednesday night and now we have to play again on Saturday at 12:30. It has happened again.

I don’t want advantages for my team. I want the same rest as our opponents. It’s very difficult to do this? I don’t think so. I think now there is a strange coincidence.

The busy period does not stop for Chelsea, who welcome Atletico Madrid to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night before making the short trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham on Saturday.
