Former Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola has admitted that he has been surprised by how consistent Alvaro Morata has been since joining the club.
Zola, as quoted by ESPN, discussed how well he feels Morata is adapting to life in England, and was full of praise for the Spanish international forward.
I knew already from Italy that he had very good qualities, but what is surprising me is his consistency so far. I’ve always said he’s a very talented player, one of the most skilful with his feet in his position in the world, but what he’s proving in this league is being strong, being determined.
Honestly I didn’t know he had that and it’s good for him, it’s good for Chelsea and hopefully he can continue as he has.

Morata has been a success since signing in the summer from Real Madrid. He is currently Chelsea’s top goal scorer, and has been a talisman for them in the opening part of the season.
The ex-Juventus man started the campaign in blistering fashion, but had his progress halted by a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s crushing defeat against Manchester United.
Morata, upon his return, failed to replicate that kind of form for a few games. However, he is back fit and firing, and scored the decisive goal in the Blues’ 1-0 win over Manchester United with a superbly-taken header.
Zola, and Morata alike, will hope that the goals continue to flow at Chelsea.
