Chelsea are planning on using the Carabao Cup as an opportunity to rotate the side ahead of more important fixtures in the Premier League and Champions League down the line.
Off the back of Sunday’s stalemate with Arsenal, Antonio Conte has confirmed that he will make a number of changes with a handful of youth players set to feature.
I think it is a good opportunity to see the young players that are training with us. They deserve to have an opportunity and I hope to take it.
One player who will not be able to feature is David Luiz who was sent off against Arsenal for a rash challenge on Sead Kolasinac, and Conte has tipped Andreas Christensen to fill the void in his absence.

The Danish defender has played that middle centre-back role in all of his Chelsea appearances so far this season but it remains to be seen if he will get the nod over Antonio Rudiger for Chelsea’s games against Stoke and Manchester City with Luiz suspended.
Rudiger was given the nod as the left centre-back when Gary Cahill missed three games earlier in the season after his red card in the opening day defeat to Burnley, but Conte does prefer Christensen in the middle role.
As for other players who may feature against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup, Charly Musonda could feature in midfield having already made two substitute appearances this season.
Brazilian winger Kenedy could also feature, while Jake Clarke-Salter and Kyle Scott may also be included.
