Ross Barkley has not fully rejected a move to Chelsea and the club hopes to complete the transfer in January.
Twitter: Another Ross Barkley update. I’m told he has not fully rejected Chelsea and they hope to reach an agreement that will see him move in Jan. (@Matt_Law_DT)
Barkley’s future at Everton was looking not too long in this transfer window, with the likes of Davy Klaassen, Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson coming into the club and Ronald Koeman publicly stating that Barkley wants to leave.
Chelsea looked very close to completing the £35m signing of Barkley yesterday, to add to their new signings of Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and a deadline day transfer of Davide Zappacosta.

However, Barkley stopped his move to the champions during his medical late last night and no one knows why.
There is good news for Chelsea, as Barkley has had almost everything agreed with all parties being happy with proceeding so if the club go back in for Barkley in January then it’d be likely that the move will happen.
Danny Drinkwater joined Chelsea last night so his transfer may not have happened if Barkley didn’t cancel his move.
