According to a report in the Mirror, Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request as he has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have been after the 27-year-old’s services for most of the summer, but so far they have only offered £30 million, which is still £10 million under Leicester City’s asking price.
The England international is desperate for a move to the current Champions, but the Foxes, understandably so, do not want to part with their prize playmaker.

Having sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, Antonio Conte is looking for a replacement to help reinforce the midfield, and he feels that Drinkwater could be the perfect candidate.
However, Drinkwater signed a new five-year deal last summer, so Leicester are holding all the cards, and it’s highly unlikely that they will be willing to let him leave for cheap so Chelsea might have to splash the cash.
