There’s still a bulk load of Chelsea players that are waiting to have their futures sorted out, whether it be leaving on loan or on a permanent basis this summer.
One of those players is left-back Baba Rahman who is working to recover from an ACL tear suffered in the winter.
Rahman was due to spend the 2016/17 season on-loan with Bundesliga side Schalke and impressed in the first half of the season before his untimely knee injury which ended his season.
The former Augsburg standout has been in a race against the clock to get fit in time for the new season, but regardless of whether he does or not, Chelsea don’t see a place for him in the squad for the coming season.

It’s always been the plan to loan the promising fullback out again and Chelsea have fielded enquiries from both AC Milan and Everton, but it’s been Baba Rahman’s wish to return to the Bundesliga, ideally with Schalke.
Schalke are keen to bring him back and have preserved his shirt number for him and have now finally made a bid to take him on a second loan spell after seemingly being reassured that he’s on track with his injury rehab.
Seeing as the move is everyone’s best wishes, this deal could be wrapped up rather soon.
